Health library aids public and patient involvement

Practice managers can now access a comprehensive collection of data covering patient and public involvement in healthcare, thanks to the King's Fund.

The collection is available in the King's Fund Patient and Public Involvement Specialist Library and allows managers free access to the latest information on policy development and NHS accountability to patients and local communities.

The library aims to boost patient and public involvement in health decisions by making information more readily available.

Chief Knowledge Officer to the NHS, J Gray said: "Patient and public involvement is as important to the health service as good knowledge management or tight financial control.

"This is a skill the modern manager has to acquire and the library provides the resources to help them do so."

Ray Phillips, head of information service development at the King's Fund added that practice managers can use this "invaluable resource" to assist them in implementing and developing patient and public involvement.
